The exhibition titled "Travel to Karabakh with Colors" and cultural events begun a few days ago, in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, came to an end. The events were organized within the framework of the "Shusha from the Perspective of Malaysia" project, implemented by Sonnmaz Mashall Cultural Relations Public Union, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Malaysia and the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The closing ceremony of the exhibition was opened by Maizon Omar, Director of the Kuala Lumpur City Art Gallery.
Shahla Nagiyeva, head of the project and chairperson of the "Sönmez Mashal" Cultural Relations Public Union, spoke about the activities carried out in Kuala Lumpur over the past few days within the framework of the project. She expressed her gratitude to those who contributed to organizing the exhibition of Azerbaijani artists' works on the theme of Shusha and other cultural events.
Songs performed by the young singer Zeynab Najafova, dedicated to Shusha and Karabakh, were warmly received by the event participants.
Elsever Salmanov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Malaysia, addressed the closing ceremony and recalled the years of Armenian occupation of Shusha. Mr. Salmanov also highlighted the liberation of the occupied territories under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, the victorious Commander-in-Chief, after nearly 30 years of enemy control.
The event was attended by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Spain, Zambia, and Senegal in Malaysia, as well as senior representatives from the Turkish and Polish embassies.
Shahla Nagiyeva provided the diplomats with detailed information about each artwork displayed in the exhibition. The ceremony concluded with the screening of videos showcasing the tourism potential of Azerbaijan, followed by discussions about Shusha over a table of sweets brought from Azerbaijan.
